Why do I want to win? I want to be able to pass on this shirt to a friend or family whose eyes have not been opened yet. God has broken my heart for the orphan and I am so truely thankful and blessed and now want to be a part of breaking others hearts so one day there will be no more orphans, as they will all be in loving homes!!! My prayer is that everyone will go serve on missions trips and what a great way to help with this!! Thank you for your ministry and following God’s lead!!!

I also shared your link on Facebook!

I can’t wait for the man up shirt I ordered to arrive and have my husband where it and hopefully inspire others!

    Happy 18th Birthday Michael!!!

It would seriously be a dream come true (no Disney World for me..lol) I’m sharing the giveaway on Facebook right now and I’ll also be adding your button to my blog! Thank you SO much for this opportunity. Someone will be forever changed because of it…JUST AWESOME!!

Here is why I would love to win the give away. It is hard for me to retyp so I will share what I wrote Grace in a message on Facebook…

Missions have always been on my heart since I was a little girl. I was nine and would tell my parents when I grew up I wanted to move to Africa. When I met my husband he said his desire was to help those in Africa. I found out someone who wanted to be my partner in missions. We also are planning to adopt in a year or two from Africa or whenever God calls us.

I have not had the chance to go yet but I hope someday I will. My husband and I were going to go this year but in March we found out I was pregnant and I was too sick to go. We lost our first baby in May. We started praying about Gods plan for us on whether or not this was our time to go to finally go on a mission. We were doing lots of research and reading lots of blogs. I have followed Katie Davis for a long time but I started to search for more.

In September we were still praying for God to show us his will. We felt adoption tugging really hard on our hearts. That same week I found out that I was pregnant again. We thought maybe Gods plan was different from ours and were thrilled with whatever was brought our way. We found out on Nov. 4th that our baby girls heart wasnt growing properly and it stopped. She was born on Monday. God is moving in a big way and we are not sure of where to go. Adoption is in our future and we hope God has us doing missions as well. Financial reasons are the only hold up right now because of all my medical bills. We are praying God will show us where we are supposed to be.

I dont tell my story to seek pity or tears but to let others know that God can work ALL things together for GOOD. Even in the middle of the storms, when you cling to God, He will take care of you. I know missionary work is heartbreaking and backbreaking and I am thinking God is using these hard times to make us stronger and closer to him.

Sorry this post is so long :/

  11. Stacy Says:

  12. Jennifer Gampp Says:

I’m going to share this on my facebook wall! Thank you for doing this for the Fatherless!

  13. Paige Says:

Simply..half my heart is elsewhere. Especially Haiti and Africa. My desire is to be able to go on at least one mission trip a year but financially we cant afford that. I stepped out in faith and applied for a mission trip and I am praying God will help me find a way…figure it doesnt hurt to try this too:)

  14. Ashley Redburn Says:

I put it on facebook and sent an email to my friends! I entered last time you gave away a mission trip, and didn’t win, but LOVE my shirt! I am pregnant and don’t want to stretch it out, so another reason I’m excited for this baby to come is so that I can wear my Love shirt again! :0)

  15. Steph Says:

After adopting my daughter from Ethiopia and living there 5 months trying to get her home, I fell in LOVE with the country. I saw a few Visiting Orphan groups come through the guest house I was at and I thought it was such an amazing organization and great opportunity. I would LOVE to join a VO trip and return to the country where I left my heart. But, after an adoption, financing a trip like that is difficult, at best. That is why I would LOVE to win this trip!

And I shared this on my fb too.

  16. Nancie-Joy Says:

FB and share. I would love to win bc I love to give and I would give the trip and tee to the one God shows me bc I know many who desire to go on a missions trip to so much and as I have been on so many before I know how life changing they are! win to give baby!

    FB and comment

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win this trip!!!! My hubs and I have two bio sons. We felt so incredibly blessed by them and “thought” we were COMPLETE…ha ha ha…God had other plans!!! hee hee. I unexpectedly got pregnant while we were building our new home. By the time we had gotten used to the idea of a child and began to prepare our home for our newest addition, I had a miscarriage. This was so difficult, but we didn’t allow this to defeat us. We cried out to God and wondered what He was trying to reveal to us through this trial….we now know that He was setting the lonely in this family…but we almost sensed it wasn’t from my womb, but from HIS. He began to stir our hearts and drew us to the idea of adoption. We began the process to adopt a daughter from China. The timeline continued to increase, so we felt the Lord leading us to complete a concurrent adoption from Ethiopia. Through many many GOD MOMENTS and MIRACLES we now have a daughter from Ethiopia- 2 and 1/2 years old (repaired cleft lip and palate) and a daugter from Ethiopia. Since being home, it has been so difficult to live the way we do in American, knowing what we know after visiting China and Ethiopia. I would LOVE the opportunity to GO. Be. Serve. LOVE!!!! Thanks for this amazing opportunity!!!!!

  18. Marcy Moser Says:

Kari, it was such a privilege to serve with you in Ethiopia and I would LOVE to do it again! I will share this on FB and I already have your button on my blog :)

I liked you on FB and also shared on FB about your giveaway. We adopted a baby girl from Ethiopia-my heart and passion is to return to that country and do good for the people that I fell in love with. I am a registered nurse in Labor & delivery and would love to be able to use my medical skills to help those in need…it is my dream. We have 6 kids now and there is no way I could afford to go over right now so when I saw the contest, I jumped on it! LOVE this idea!!! Thanks for doing this-whoever gets to go is SO blessed!

  20. Kryste Says:

Happy Birthday Michael!! I love seeing your kid’s hearts for orphans, Kari!

  25. Jessica Rudder Says:

I shared the mission trip giveaway on Facebook (Jessica Fields Rudder).

If I won, I would send my husband on a mission trip (even though I’d really, really want to go myself). He’s a very responsible person, so, he would never spend our limited finances on a mission trip for himself. This means the only way I can get him out there is to win the trip for him. He has such a great knowledge of scripture and love of God and an amazing way with people (especially kids) that I think he would be a huge asset on a mission trip too!

  26. Josh Rich Says:

Why do I want to go to Africa? I love bigger than the united states and see the necessity for loving.Africa the way we love America, and I want to see Worldu again !! Love you Mama Keke :) I hope I get to see you guys again real soon!!

  27. Kim Says:

God has been opening my heart to care for orphans ever since my best friend adopted her daughter from Ethiopia. I have never been on a missions trip but I have caught a glimpse of the need and feel like my whole way of living and thinking is being transformed. I would love this opportunity to enter. I’m checking out your blog and looking at the shirts too! Thanks for all you are doing!!

P.S. Posted on FB for all my friends to see as well!!!

  28. Julie Says:

I posted the link on FB and would love to win! We adopted our precious Esther Selam 1 1/2 years ago and my dream is now to go back and serve. To somehow serve the precious people of Ethiopia in Jesus’ name. We are doing what we can from here and yes, there is much to do from a distance. But half of my heart is still there and going back is my dream

  35. Melanie Says:

    Hey Kari,
First off…I blogged about the missions trip giveaway on my blog: http://www.proverbs24twelve.blogspot.com.

Secondly…..here’s my reason for wanting to go on the missions trip:
(I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stoked you are doing a mission trip giveaway again.)

There is only one thing that I can think of that I have not done in my life that I REALLY wanted to do…and that is go on an overseas mission trip. God planted this seed in my heart as an older teenager. Lots of time has passed and I’m now in my mid-30s. In the last couple of years, God has opened my heart and made me aware of the orphan crisis and the need around the world. I realized that we all have so much to give. This past January, we brought home our new 4 1/2 year old son from Ethiopia. We are also sponsoring an 18 -year-old boy from P61 to go to boarding school. We have been writing back and forth for about a year. He is wanting to know when I could come visit. Since I am a stay-at-home mom again, our resources are limited and the funds to fly are non-existent. The thought of being able to go, love, and serve would be wonderful. (and a visit to my sponsored child and helping at p61 would be icing on the cake!)

  36. Rachel Says:

Yahh!!! Oh I am so excited Kari!!! This is my year that I finally move for God like CRAZY!! I just know it and feel whether, I win your givaway or not!!! However, I did tweet about your givaway and blogged about it!!! Thank you Kari!! I love your sweet heart and love for our Father!!!

  37. Christie Says:

Posting on Facebook! Would be super awesome to win a T-shirt and a chance to win the trip!!!

  38. Jami Says:

Button is on my blog! Also, Why would I like to win a Mission Trip? Well, we are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia, so we have been in saving mode for months. Since it looks like we will have a longer wait than anticipated, my husband and I decided we could take a few months and save for a missions trip. I was totally blown away when he said HE wanted to be the one to go!! Our church is partnering with a church in the Dominican Republic and we are helping build an education center there. Tyler will be traveling with 19 other people in July to help make this happen. I am so proud of him for stepping up and wanting to go serve (totally jealous he will get to meet our sponsor child while he is there too!) All that to say while I am so incredibly excited and happy for him, I WANT TO GO TOO! As we wait for the day we see our child’s face for the first time, I want to make the most of this time and DO something. I can’t think of anything better than going and loving on orphans and sharing the love of our Father. Thank you Kari (and the whole Gibson family) for all the love and support you pour out!

  39. April Fiesler Says:

This is awesome! Hope it is me! And Happy Birthday Michael!

  40. Grace S. Says:

Happy Birthday to your son!!! Missions has always been on my heart, but recently God has placed Africa on my heart too! My hubby and I are saving up to go on a trip @ the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013. It will take that long for us to save up, but it will be sooooooo worth it! I shared this on FB. I also just finished reading Kisses From Katie. God is so so good. Your blog is new to me, but I look forward to reading it!!! God Bless!!!!

  41. Rebekah Says:

I would love to win a trip because Jesus commands us to go and make disciples of all nations and God has grown a deep desire in my heart to continue to serve not only in my own community but also all over the world!

  50. Toni Crebbin Says:

I’m planning on heading back to China this summer for my sixth mission trip. Winning my trip there would mean I would have more to spend on the kids I’ve fallen in love and built relationships with. But no matter who wins, thanks so much for doing this! I believe going overseas is such an important experience that everyone should have, yet I hear so many people tell me about not being able to afford it, as they are gulping down their daily $5 latte! By the way, I gave you a shoutout on my fb page:)

  51. Nate Ellis Says:

Simply Love is the business! Hah If this is a random drawing then count me in. If it is not though still count me in. So looking forward to the trip this summer and possibly staying further. Your awesome Kari!

WOW!! Incredible! Posting on fb for sure :)

  56. Kaylee Says:

I have a heart for adoption and would like to visit Uganda before I graduate highschool(:

  57. Ashley E. Says:

Are you still eligible to win if you do not have a blog???
I would love to win a mission trip, because I believe that God has called everyone of His children to missions. When I graduated from highschool I spent a month in Nicaragua, and worked at an orphanage. I loved every minute of it; the good and the bad. I felt like for once I had a purpose. I knew that I wanted to continue serving people that others easily forget about, because they are so far away, but since I go to College of the Ozarks, I haven’t had time to do all of the things that go into planning a trip. With graduation approaching, my heart is more open to God’s plan than ever, and I hope that it I won a trip, and if I and my fiance could go on a trip together, God would give us more clarity in the plan He has for us.
This is an awesome give away! Happy Birthday Michael!

  58. Wendy H. Says:

I already purchased the shirt but would love another :) Posted on FB and would love this generous opportunity to help serve since I lack the funding on my own. Thank you!

  59. Whitney Anderson Says:

    Hello,

First of all- Happy Birthday to your son!!!

I posted on my facebook and would like to share with you why a mission trip prize would be an amazing blessing in my life. Over the last two years, I have felt an overwhelmingly incredible urge in my soul to visit Africa- more specifically Uganda. In just the last couple of months, several of my friends have had the opportunity to go- one of my friends with the visitingorphans organization, of which I have only heard great things.

I have fervently prayed for direction, wisdom, and provision and am eager to see how God will work in my life.I am a newlywed and am so excited to serve with my husband in Africa (something we discussed since meeting one another). I have asked God to show us how (my husband and I )will get to Africa and feel that this opportunity just might be a way! ( : After all; it is every person’s responsibility to care of the fatherless, the orphans…to go, be, love. God is soooooo good! Thank you for doing this life changing giveaway!

    Have a blessed day!!

    Whitney

  60. Pamela R. Says:

I would love a tee, but oh how i would “simply love” to join a mission trip. When it doesn’t seem like there would ever be a chance, this opportunity simply might be an answer to prayer. Thank you.

  61. Sarah Says:

This is very cool, God has been breaking our hearts for Africa so much, my husband has been able to go to many trips by Gods grace and I cannot wait to add some trips to my belt as well. God’s heart is where the poor are…

    Thank you!
    Sarah

  62. Sarah Says:

oh and I posted on Face book! oops I forgot to mention…

  63. Rhonda Says:

I would love to win a mission trip because it is my heart’s desire to use the gifts God has given me as a nurse to care for those in need in foreign countries!

  64. Kyle Says:

Chiming in as a husband here. My wife has already been to Africa and it changed her life in so many ways. I know that God is preparing our family for more international ministry work and I would love to start with Africa if it is His will!

  67. Natalie Says:

Posted on Facebook! So looking forward to see what God has in store. Growing up, I’ve been exposed to missionaries and seeing the work they’ve started. God gave me that experience for a purpose – to open up my heart for the glory of his work. Children all over the world need God’s love – so God is using people to share His love for them.

  68. shannon p Says:

  71. Brad Says:

I shared this on my facebook page.

  72. Janette Root Says:

Would Love to go back and take my husband!!

  73. Nicole Says:

Wow, what an opportunity you are giving to someone. I am truly happy for whoever is chosen. My husband and I have two Ethiopian sons. One son has been home since ’10 and our other precious son passed away Nov.’09 while waiting for us to bring him home. Part of my heart is buried in Ethiopian soil. I wasn’t able to go to Ethiopia to get our son or visit the cemetary where our other son is buried. I stayed home to take care of our 3 older children. My husband went. I would hope it is my turn now. Thank you.
I shared this on FB too.
