My Crazy 2010 Goals-

I love looking forward to a new year and setting achievable goals for myself. I thought this year, I might share a few goals and allow my bloggy readers to keep me accountable. I’m constantly inspired by moms out there that blog about their DIY projects that keep home & family looking beautiful on the outside. I’m not a crafty person, but if I see something I like, I have fun “copying” the look and making it work for my home. I decided this year to create unique DIY Blog Projects just for families. Projects, games, activities, crafts that bring a family closer- bonding them like glue. Projects that keep a home & family looking beautiful from the inside – out. I think one of the most important things about adoption is bonding. We know that attachment and bonding is critical in the adoption process. All of the DIY posts will include special “adoption” tips for families at all stages of post-adoption.
Our 2nd Adoption Adventure. Starting January 1st- we start the homestudy process again for our next adoption. We will continue to need your support, prayers, and cheers as we move forward! Adoption Miracle 2010- we need to raise $30,000 and we trust that God will give us the courage & strength to work hard for every penny!!
Training for a 1/2 marathon. Don’t laugh, but if you know me, you know that I’m not a runner. I love running through Target to hit the big sales, but beyond that, I’m not a runner. I have challenged myself to start from scratch and train for a 1/2 marathon. My hubby & I want to raise awareness for adoption, as well as fundraise for our own adoption in a fun, unique way… running! Adoption and running, are the two most challenging things I can do this year- why not combine them and run for a cause.
Road trips to visit my adoption peeps. This year, I want to visit my favorite adoption friends I have met through our agency, as well as adoption blogs. I’m already dreaming of a TN trip – this is a hot spot for adoption! There are so many of you scattered around the country and my goal is to get out and meet you!
Home For Adoption. This is the year we want to sell our home to fund our adoptions. Please join us in fervent prayers as we creatively work on selling our home.
Blog Blog Blog. I want to commit to blogging 6 days a week. Will you commit to sharing your thoughts, investing your time and leaving comments that will support and encourage and inspire anyone wanting to learn more about adoption. We are Team Adoption!
Photography. I want to learn how to take really great pics of my family and friends. I’m inspired to take a few photography classes to learn what all the little buttons and nobs mean on my camera. I’ve been stuck on “Auto” mode for too long. It’s time to commit to “Manual.” I have nooo desire to be a professional pic taker, but I want my photos to capture the love I have for my family and the children who daily inspire me.
Write. I want to finish my E-book by spring. 591 Days to Zoie- Love Will Always Find A Way is my Adoption 101 book from A to Z on helping, guiding, supporting, encouraging you on your adoption journey. Also, I’ve been working on a book for several years with a friend- The Adventures of Mommyhood. We would love to complete our book this year!! It’s a challenge with 8 kiddos between us.
Mission Trip 2010. I want to keep my eyes and heart open for my next mission trip.

OK- I want to hear a new goal YOU want to achieve this year!! Come on- inspire me!

My goal is to be a more well-rounded reader. I have the details of my resolution on my blog. I'm also doing Project 365. I'm also working on selling my adoption flag blankets (www.mamaenat.etsy.com) both online and at an ET Culture Camp I was invited to this fall.

One blog I read about a family who adopted a sweet boy from Ethiopia wrote that she wanted to work on her photography. She did Project: 365, where she takes a picture every day of the year. She said that it has really improved her photography. Maybe that will help you pots 6 days AND get better at your photography. Blessings in the year and good luck on acheiving your goals!

Great goals! Mine are similar to yours and you can do that 1/2 marathon. I began from scratch 4 years ago and I'm hooked now. I'll keep encouraging you!!! Love your blog and love that we are starting our second adoption around the same time. Still trying to decide on agency. Oh and I'm in Tennessee…lots of adoption going on here! Happy New Year!

LOVE your goals for 2010. Two struck my heart deeply…our hearts deepest desire is to bring another peanut home and I think He is leading us to Ethiopia.

Your running goal…hehehe…WE HAVE TO TALK!!! I'm running my first 1/2 marathon in Feb. and I have been praying about starting a non-profit organization to help offer grants for adoptive families and ultimately humanitarian aid efforts (of course using running as a way to raise awareness). I would LOVE, LOVE to chat with you about what we are thinking.

We have very similar plans for 2010!!!

It is through an organization called "Visiting Orphans"

*I started a photography business to raise money for our Ethiopian Adoption~ I am self taught, with support from local photographers. I shoot everything on Aperture Priority, after years practicing!! =)

*We are currently DTE (Dossier to Ethiopia) and waiting to bring home our Baby "Easton"

*I am a 2nd grade teacher and I am working on my first children's book, that has to do with Adoption!!! =)

Best wishes on everything and a note about the half marathon training…like you, I did not consider myself a runner when I started training in 2007 for my half marathon. I quickly learned it was a very tangible way for me to work on being disciplined: eating right, working out, training regularly, etc. I am so proud that I ran the entire Lewis and Clark Half Marathon that September. It's one of my proudest accomplishments! God helped me every step of the way…and trust me, if I can do it, then anyone can!!

my goal is ME. We can talk about it over coffee in more details, but i have finally begun to listen to what the Lord has been saying to me for too many years.

The journey began in the autumn, but it seems that a number of things are happening this month. I blogged about it today a bit if you want to read it, if not then let's have coffee when the kiddlets are back in school. (maybe next week!)

AND as far as the 1/2 marathon goes, let me know what one you are running and I'm there with you sister. Unless you choose to run in Hawaii or someplace far away. And i'd love to train or at least do long runs together.
